Often when I talk with people about our application some of the questions being asked are: “Who uses SweetIM ?” or “What is the average age of SweetIM users ?” or sometimes even: “Aren’t these smileys for little kids ?”

Well the answer is .

Usually people are surprised when I tell them that we estimate most SweetIM users are adults.

Whether it’s our funny emoticons, cool winks, or crazy nudges - they all satisfy a basic need of the average person (no matter what his/her age is) - a better way of self expression.

To prove my point, I’d like to run a simple survey, with one question asked:

“How old are you ?”

Hello SweetIMers,

Yesterday a new release candidate version of Windows Live Messenger 2009 was released (with build number 14.0.8050.1202).

While this might be good news for all you messenger lovers out there, it is also bad news, cause unfortunately, SweetIM does not support this build !

For some technical reasons that we’re still trying to figure out - our bar doesn’t appear inside the messenger chat window at all.    The only thing one can do with this version is receive content sent by friends with SweetIM.

Since we only started investigating this issue, we estimate that it will take us a rather long time to fix it, and so our for people who can’t do without SweetIM (I guess most of you…) is to stick with older versions of messenger till further notice !

Right now this is in top priority for us and we’re using all of our resources to solve it.  Your patience is needed! This was expected to happen as things can change when a product (Windows Live Messenger) goes from beta to release candidate.

In the meantime, we suggest you remove your current Windows Live Messenger version and then install the previous one, which is supported by SweetIM: http://get.live.com/WL

I called Robert to come over to my office about two hours ago, and he said he’s “a bit busy” and “will come over in a few minutes”.

10 minutes later I called him again and he said he’s “working on something”.

I figured out I better not disturb him and so I asked Igor and Mark to come instead…  Surprisingly both were  “busy” as well.

Sounded suspicious and so I went to their office, and found out what they’re really working on:

On a quick look I actually thought they’re working…

But noticing Igor’s screen made me take a closer look.

All three of them were hooked up on this game we have on SweetGames called “Zuma“:

Sorry for the previous post, it was posted by an ex-employee of SweetIM ! 

hehe, Just kidding, it was me all that time…  (As you probably imagined)

The truth is we just had a fun “poker night” last Monday with all SweetIM employees participating in the very first “SweetIM Texas Hold’em no limit tournament”.

Don’t worry - nobody lost his shirt, as the buy in amount was 10$ (plus the company donated 2 to 1 on the total money collected for the prizes).

If you’re wondering who won, here’s the answer:

Gabi (on the right) won the tournament, Jagosh and Erik came out second and third.

This was very surprising since Gabi told us it was the first time she played (yeah, right…. )

Well I’ve decided I can’t do it anymore… It’s time to stop pretending !

My name is %$#%, and I’m a gambler.  I tell people that I go to work everyday, and make smileys for a living…
